The Shasta Cascade Wonderland Association, a not-for-profit organization, was founded by a group of local business leaders in 1927. With a mission of promoting economic development through recreation and tourism in the eight-county region known as the Shasta Cascade (Butte, Lassen, Modoc, Plumas, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama and Trinity), the Association has developed a variety of strategies to accomplish this goal.

UpStateCA's six main strategies:

  1. Produce Shasta Cascade's official regional UpStateCA Visitors Guide.
  2. Operate the California Welcome Center in Anderson.
  3. Providing information to potential visitors and tour operators via our website.
  4. Participating in a variety of face-to-face and virtual trade and consumer travel shows.
  5. UpStateCA's regional destination marketing organization for outdoor recreation and travel media.
  6. International Marketing with itineraries and video in English, Spanish, Germany, French, Italian, and Chinese.
