Trinity River Rafting

Welcome To Trinity: Alpine Lakes, Wild & Scenic Rivers & Natural Wonders

Some of the most beautiful scenery and natural lakes are found in the Trinity Alps Wilderness; its snow-capped peaks are reminiscent of the Swiss Alps. The wild and scenic Trinity River offers fishing, kayaking and some of the best white water rafting in Upstate California.

Weaverville, a Gold Rush-era town on Highway 299, provides a nostalgic step back in time. During the mid-1800’s as many Chinese men and women inhabited the region as did Euro-Americans; all of them searching for the abundant gold found nearby. The Joss House built in 1874, has been in continuous use as a place of worship.

The crystal-clear waters of Trinity Lake, the third largest lake in California, contain a variety of prize fish including trout, smallmouth bass, and King Salmon, perfect for anglers and houseboaters.

Trinity Lake

Trinity Lake, the third largest lake in California, is uncrowded even during the peak summer months. Whether you have a ski boat, paddle board, kayak, patio boat, or sailboat, there is always a perfect spot on Trinity Lake.

Weaverville Joss House State Historic Park

The Joss House is the oldest continuously used Chinese Taoist temple in California and now a state landmark and park. On display are Chinese art objects, pictures, and mining tools.

Historic Weaverville

Listed in the National Registry of Historic Places, Weaverville's history began in the 1800's as Chinese men and women came to the region with Euro-Americans, all searching for abundant gold.
