Boat Launch Permit - Available at the California Welcome Center Anderson
The California Welcome Center in Anderson, CA, sells Annual Boat launch permits for Shasta Lake, Trinity and Lewiston Lake. This is in conjunction with Shasta Recreation Company, who is the Concessionaire for the U.S. Forest Service.
The passes are for Calendar year. New year passes go on sale in November and are discounted if purchased before January 1.
To purchase passes you must complete an Application for Boating Area Annual Season Pass form.
Also bring with you a copy of the vehicle registration for truck/car you plan on parking; you may register up to 3 vehicles. Vehicles must be registered to applicant.
To receive a reduced fee, you will need to present a pass issued by the National Park service (i.e. Senior Pass, Golden Age Pass of Access pass) and will need a copy of that too. If you are a Veteran and have your Veteran ID, you will also be entitled to a discount.
Welcome Center prefers payment by check or cash. You may pay with a credit/or debit card, but a 3% fee will be added to your total.
You will receive your parking pass and information on how to apply sticker and where it can be used at time of payment and receipt of information.

We do not sell National or State Park entry passes - they must be purchased at the park gates.
Christmas Tree Cutting Permits - Not Available at the California Welcome Center Anderson
The California Welcome Center is not selling Christmas tree cutting permits this year. We've compiled a list below of all the local areas where permits can be purchased. Shasta-Trinity National Forest:
Christmas Tree Permits for Shasta-Trinity National Forest go on sale November 1 and are valid through December 31. A permit costs $10.00. Each household may cut only one tree. Online: Permits may be purchased online at Recreation.gov. Fourth-grade students are eligible for a free Christmas tree permit, paying only the $2.50 service fee under the Every Kid Outdoors program. It is important to carefully read the overview and the need-to-know information prior to purchasing the permit. Visitors will need to set up or log in to a Recreation.gov account to complete the secure credit card transaction.

By mail: Permits may be purchased by calling with a credit card or mailing a check to your local Shasta-Trinity National Forest Ranger Station. Permits and maps will be returned by mail. Please allow up to two weeks for processing.
Lassen National Forest (LNF):
Christmas tree permits for Lassen National Forest are $10 each with a two tree permit maximum per household. Lassen NF Christmas Tree Permits will be on sale November 1st through December 4th.
